About a month or so ago I looked over and saw that I hit the 10,000 comments mark on my blog. Of course, I’ve actually received more than that, since it was only the approved comments. I think I had 50,000 spam comments when I moved my blog over to this domain name. Thank you, Akismet (WordPress spam filter)!
I figured I would celebrate the joyous occasion by making something for the 10,000 commenter, and guess who was so lucky? Joanna! It gave us the perfect opportunity to finally meet in person! 🙂
I let her pick what she wanted me to make. She chose a knitted baby hat, which was probably the easiest thing she could have chosen for me to do. It takes time, but it is something I can do while watching TV or waiting for Anya at dance class. She said she was all pinked out, so I went a deep smoky purple route with the color. The cream is an organic cotton yarn and it so wonderfully soft. Sweeeet! She told me that she will for sure take some pictures of the little babe wearing it, so I can’t wait to see those. 🙂

That is the extent of the craftiness I have to show for the week…and I didn’t even do that last week! No…not much was accomplished in the past few weekends, as we have been pretty busy. I do have to get Anya’s birthday dress made this week and then I want to make Kailan a few pair of pants. Hopefully, I can get it done.
Anya’s birthday party is on Saturday, but she doesn’t turn 5 until Monday. We only do friend birthday parties every other year, so no party with her friends this time. She will bring some cupcakes to class, though, so at least that’s a little celebration with her peeps. 🙂
That is just so sweet, I love the colors!
What a sweet little hat. I am sure Joanna’s wee one will love it. We really need to implement the friend party every other year. It really can get out of hand.
Lucky duck Joanna! If I were the 10,000 would you come down to Texas? 🙂
Oh yes…I was very lucky to receive this adorable little hat for my new baby girl. It was such a nice surprise when Stacy told me I was her 10000 comment. What are the odds? I keep looking at the hat and cant wait to take pictures with it. As I said to Stacy, “Are newborns heads really that small?” It has been almost 5 years since Ive had a newborn and I cant imagine having something that small again. :0) Loved the color too. You did a great job choosing that smoky purple. Its the double pom poms kill me. Thank you again! Hope Anya has a great birthday!
Lucky ducky! and cannot WAIT to see the sweet baby face that will live inside that hat. Congrats on 10,000!
10,000?! That’s A LOT of comments! Wow!
And that hat is ADORABLE — it’s going to look great on J’s little peanut!
10,000? Ten THOUSAND?! Wow, that’s a lot. I have no idea how many I’ve had, but I don’t think that many! Lucky, lucky Jo! The hat is adorable…can’t wait to see her sweet babe modeling it!
I cannot wait to see that hat on J’s baby! It is beautiful! Happy Birthday to Anya…it is crazy over here and I’m hoping I’ll be back to wish her a happy day…but just in case I don’t!
Wow 10,000 now that’s an excellent number to reach. I have to agree that akismet from wordpress is a wonderful wonderful tool. LOL What a cute idea to celebrate it too, the hat is adorable. 🙂
