I had Sunday set aside as a day I wanted to work on some sewing projects. Of course, it was nice out, and I was sewing away in the COLD basement. Gah!
I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked, but I was still relatively successful in cranking out some items and crossing off the to do list.
First, I made a few things for moi. I had this lovely stretch french terry that I thought would make a great lounging about outfit. Unfortunatley, I used patterns for the top and bottom that I hadn’t used before and they both turned out a bit tight. The fabric wasn’t “stretch” enough for these. I will still wear them, but they aren’t as comfy as I was hoping. They are a bit constricting.
Next, I tried a different tactic for a top, where I wanted that draped collar effect. Yeah, that didn’t quite work here, either. Add to the fact that this fabric shows every bump on your body to the fullest effect…not a great look. This can be a layering piece, I guess. I took A LOT of photos to get one that was halfway decent and not too bumpy.
Then we have a plain pink shirt with a cowl neck collar. Simple and comfy.
Here is the underdress for Anya’s Halloween costume. A tiered fleece pink concoction to go under the store bought tulle wonder. Should be nice and warm. I have a photo with the store bought dress here, too, so you can see what it will look like together. Then all we need to add is some wings and a crown and she will be a princess fairy. Luckily she has plenty of those in the dress up drawer, so I didn’t have to spend anything on her costume this year. Yay me!
Oh, and we are going to borrow the skeleton costume from a neighbor. Mommy is happy, happy about that! One less thing to sew!
I also volunteered to make a basket for the school PTO carnival. I really need to stop doing things like that. Hello, Stress…nice to see you again. 😯 It is in 3 weeks, so at least I have a little time. SO…I’m going to do a girl basket. Here is the first thing for the basket, which is a lap blanket. I think it would be wise of me to keep it away from Anya’s little eyeballs, since I think she would possibly steal it.
Other things to go in the basket will be a matching pillow, then probably a tote bag of some sort? Maybe a cute pink knit hat with a matching scarf? Maybe one of Jen’s Zippy Art Purses? I can’t really make clothes, since that limits who would buy it. I’m still figuring out the possibilities. I want to keep the purchases to a minimum.
Now to tackle the rest of the to do list…
three things here…
you sew great.(I guess)LOL
don’t be so hard on yourself, you look great… :o)
and can we get back to the food posts?????
Just saying….
*snicker*
Just look at your trim self! 🙂 I need me an elliptical machine!
Love your outfits – talented as always!
Wow yeah! The slim thing is TOTALLY happening there!! I don’t know what ‘bumps’ you are talking about!!!??? But I do know how some fabric can make even the most svelte gals look lumpy. It’s just baaaaaaad fabric! 🙂
Did you seriously do all this in one weekend? I love the lap blankets and baby things you do. So creative and appealing, no wonder you have to keep them hidden.
But I think the pink tiered underdress takes the cake! How clever for the cold dress-up weather!
You were one busy lady. What a great feeling to be able to check some things off your list. That blanket is adorable. Your blankets are always so plush and comfy looking.
lumps? bumps? ummm, where?! I don’t see any. I’d love to be that lumpy/bumpy. 😉
the kitty cat lap blanket – I know a girl who’d go NUTS for something like that! 😉 Her cat obsession just keeps growing.
