I love the imagination of little kids. Sticks become swords and they in turn become fierce ninjas.
Then mommies become worried because they start sword fights with their newly acquired swords. There are lots of wildly swinging limbs and little to no concern for eyeballs of others. I tell them to “swing low” because we don’t need to lose any eyeballs. They laugh, unconcernedly…they are omnipotent ninjas…no harm will befall them.
I remember being that way when I was a kid. Crawling over farm machinery, traversing the woods and being gone for hours at a time. Now we have to kick the kids outside to get them away from the various forms of electronics. They do enjoy being outside, at least. Just getting them there proves to be the hard part.

On another note…isn’t Anya cute in her hat?? That knit was really super soft, so I’m sure this will be a well used hat this winter.
Love their imaginations! And is it just me, or do these pictures show how alike their expressions are sometimes?!?! 🙂
Love it! So much fun. Oh, the reckless imagination of kids. 🙂 Love Anya’s hat, too!

To be young again! And oh so cute, too!
Ah to be invincible, it’s a wonderful age. 🙂 Anya is too cute with her hat and her sword. If only the stick was pink, eh?
