Here we thought we had this whole potty training thing licked. No more diapers…yay, us!! Jinx, jinx, jinx!
Anya has been having some issues at night. She will wake up, but not in time, usually leaving a trail of pee from her bedroom to the bathroom. On those freshly cleaned carpets. I don’t think I need to tell you that it does not make me overjoyed. Stepping on pee has got to be in the top ten of things that I really dislike…maybe even the top 5.
Last night after the first pee-on-the-carpet episode, we gave in. Out came the pull-ups. I’m hoping this is a just a phase and that she will be able to get back to sleeping through the night with no peeing on herself. When she woke this morning her pullup was wet, so I’m really glad we did that.
I guess we aren’t living in the carefree world of no pull-up-ville, yet. I don’t want to push her, since her brother was three before he was potty trained. As far as we are concerned she is ahead of the curve here.
It would’ve been nice, though!
oh dear. We are only a mere two months away from strongly beginning the process of diaper-free-hood. I am scared to death! lol I hate pee and poop….
Hopefully the pull-ups will go away soon for you!
She really is ahead. It will come.
That’s a bummer, but still, she’s doing great! She is ahead of the curve; a lot of kids aren’t dry through the night until 5 or older. Nadia’s getting close to two, and we’re yet to have that first exciting success story.
Drew just stopped wearing pull-ups at night about a month ago. And Nicky still does. No matter how little they drink in the evenings, no matter how many times I haul them out of bed to use the bathroom, they just can’t stay dry at night. My brother wet the bed until he was 9 or 10, and DH did for a long time when he was a kid, too. I think it just takes some kids longer to mature bladder-wise.
I know I am spoiled with how quickly Kai went from diapers to no pullups. I am hoping she will hate being wet. Last night she fell asleep in our bed (in a pullup) and woke up crying. She was upset that she wet our bed! What a sweetie. 🙂
It will happen when least expected. I believe the ability to “hold it all night” is a body maturity thing and we all know everyone’s body matures at different times. She’s doing great.
