The kindergarteners were supposed to have yellow shirts at school, and Anya didn’t have a yellow shirt.  I did what I usually do…make something for her.  Unfortunately, she wore it and it was still in the wash on the day she needed to have it.  Of course!  Luckily Kailan had a yellow shirt (with one of my designs on it), so she just wore that.

Mission IN-complete.

Oh, and here is a FAIL, or a wadder as the case may be (wadder being a sewing project that you don’t want to wear and frustrated you unbelievably so you wad it up and throw it in the corner of the closet).  It pulls wrong when I’m wearing it, the lining didn’t fit right and oh, the hem is uneven.  GRRRRRRR!  I had such high hopes for it, too.

I wore it today with a long sweater, and yeah…definitely a wadder.  The black sagged and that is not a good look.  At least I wore a top that covered at much as it could.  I wish it could be saved…but it’s going into the giveaway pile.

I didn’t actually get much of anything done last week.  I finished up a dress that kinda looks okay on me.  It was a “test”, and I basically wanted to make a flowy dress that I could put on after working out and taking a shower and sitting on the deck with a glass of wine in the evening.  You know…one that doesn’t involve a brassiere.  I need to change it up a bit, but I think I can make it workable.  The one I made was wayyyy too wide.  It definitely fits the “flowy” part.

I have a few other things in the picture hopper.  I’m hoping to be able to get the rest of the stuff done so I can finally post them.  It’s all for me, too.  Yes, Mommy is being selfish. 🙂
