The kids wanted a fire so bad. If we didn’t have a fire, Kailan declared that it would be, “the worst weekend ever”. I mean he hardly played video games, was outside in fresh air for most of the day on Saturday and he wouldn’t have had any smores yet this summer. Torturous, obviously.
It was in the 80’s, so we were just thrilled to sit around a hot fire. We had promised them a fire this weekend, though, so Brian got it set up and started after dinner on Sunday night. I had the fixin’s for the smores, so we pulled through and made it not the “worst weekend ever.”
The fire was so hot that Anya couldn’t finish roasting her marshmallow. Mommy had to do it. Lucky mommy. 😉
At least they kept active, and worked off the sugar.
I spy…a bottle of beer (and a sunburn)! Hey, it was hot and definitely after Noon somewhere.
Nothing like summer evenings.
We were thinking about a fire pit, but then my husband said, “It’s too hot right now, so let’s wait until the fall!” Love the pictures. Love, love love!
Looks like a marvelous summer evening! How could it not be – if it included chocolate and marshmallows?!?
And Anya looks so much like you with that smile! I can’t believe how she’s grown since we first found your blog 🙂
I love how we found blogs and have followed the progress of our children. This is such an atmospheric post. I can almost feel the warm although the chimera would be much more at home here now, than at your place! Tell B I sympathise with the sunburn.
