The annual doctor’s appointment was finished.
“Hey, I’ll get you back just in time for the field trip to the zoo.”
“Nooooooo, I don’t want to go to the zoo! I want to go to the beach!”
“Yeah, I want to go to the beach!”
“Really?? You don’t want to go to the zoo?”
“Noooooo, the beach!”
“The beach!”
Much pouting and Mommy Guilt ensued.
After a bit of soul searching, I decided to call in for the day. I knew that there was nothing earth shattering that needed to be taken care of at work…and it was hard to say no to two little kidlets that wanted to spend their summer Friday at the beach. Work could wait…though I was continually checking my email with my phone.
It is so rare that I get to just spend time with them that isn’t planned and hurried.
I would regret if I said, “No”.
I didn’t regret saying, “Yes”.
There was a school of fish that was at the shoreline. It was not very busy at all, so the water was pretty calm. The kids were attempting to catch the fish with buckets and then with their hands.
No dice.
This was a pretty cool feature on this beach. It draws water from the lake into this water table. All the kids have a great time with it.
Awesome. So glad you Took the day off to go.
when I read your first post, I thought maybe you guys had gone East or West for vacation:o) looks like you had a blast even staying home….LOL
NO regrets,,,,,:o) that is nice…
You will never regret doing things with the kids–and building great memories. And in a blink of an eye they are grown and gone.
Sounds like a perfect day for all three of you.
Love that you took that time – what wonderful memories for the kids! And that water table – awesome!
These are the moments that cannot be replaced. You are so blessed to have that beach near you.
