I have been trying to catch up on my scrapbooking in the past few weeks. It was about last April when I scrapbooked, so I was really behind. Last weekend I actually went on an all day scrapbooking event, which REALLY helped me catch up. It was freeeezzzing in the church reception hall that it was held at…and I don’t know if I will go to that one again. I did get about 20 or so pages done and got to have some time with my girlfriends, so that was nice.
Here are some of my scrapbooking pages I have gotten done. I’m not the best scrapbooker…I use lots of embellishments, ribbons and print all my pictures with a black border, so I don’t have to frame them while scrapbooking. I’m not overly creative with it, compared to the wildly embellished pages you see in scrapbooking magazines. I also print off some of the stories from my blog, and my girlfriends were very impressed with that, because otherwise you just tend to forget events.
I also got my serger out of the box on Sunday, and took it for a test drive. It came already threaded with 4 spools of thread on it. Wasn’t that nice of them? 😉 I made Anya a pair of leggings, and it was so quick. Now I need to figure out how to do some of the features on it, like rolled hems and ruffling. Oh, how I can’t wait to figure out the ruffling, since I do so much of that by hand. It would cut down immensely on the time it takes to make skirts.
It is still intimidating, even after I watched the 80’s instructional videotape narrated by a nice English gentleman. I think they need to update the style of clothing just a bit…and maybe put it on a DVD. Just a thought…
Great scrapbook pages! I am WAY behind…several years in fact. I’m wondering if there is any way that I will ever catch up!
Those pages are great! Hey…when you get all caught up, do you think you could do some of mine? I think it was last spring the last time I worked on mine, too 🙂
I want to see that DVD. Too funny. A tip my MIL gave me, in case you don’t know already. Threading a serger is a pain. Don’t take them out to rethread, just cut one above the machine, change the spool, then tie a knot with the new thread and old thread, then run the machine til the new color shows.
I love the Halloween one. The tree is really cool! I so need to catch up my scrapbooking SO bad!
Those pages are amazing. I really should scrapbook. I don’t think my pages would turn out as nice as yours, however!
Thanks ladies!
I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years or so. My beginning pages weren’t that great, but as the years have passed I have acquired more STUFF. All the STUFF that you put on the pages seem to make better because you have the supplies to be more creative. But it is spendy! One thing I have noticed is that if you put too many pictures on a page then it gets way too cluttered and you lose the focus of the page. I have several pages with only one or two pictures on them.
Melody, thanks for passing on the tip. They actually did talk about that on the VHS tape, so it was a bit informative at least. 🙂
Oh, Stacy! 20 pages!!! What a great accomplishment – I can only dream of getting that many done in one sitting. I love all of the pages and the idea of printing out your blog pages for the journaling is a great idea. I most definitely will have to do that – I am bad at the journaling part – I love getting the photos and embellishments on, and then it sits just waiting to be journaled.
It definitely can be expensive, but once you have some stuff, it lasts for awhile and you can use it for many pages – and I love pages with just one or two photos as the focus.
And I can’t wait to see some fun stuff with the serger! You truly qualify as my “craftiest” friend.
Those pages are awesome! Yup. I haven’t scrapbooked since, well, I got married! Gulp.
Great work, very inspirational too.
Those are some nice pages. I’m impressed that you were able to get 20 pages done, wow! I’m lucky to get 4 0r 5 in one setting.
Wow those pages are amazing! I love what you did with the wedding spread (and remember those beautiful photos well), plus I really love that Halloween tree!
Once you have figured your new serger out … which I’m sure won’t take long … you should film a new instructional video and send it to them !!
Love the scrapbook pages !! They look FANTASTIC !!!
Gorgeous!!!!
Yikes! You’re doing great with your scrapbooking! I totally need to get going on mine. I have quite a collection of pictures to be scrapped!
Come on by when you’ve got a minute. I’ve got something for you!
I’m amazed at how much you get done!!!
Great pages and woo hoo on the serger 🙂
Those pages look great! What a great idea, to pre-border them, I’ll have to try that.
TWENTY pages all in one day?! Wow, you rock!!! Those are all such cute layouts, too. I haven’t done a single page since before Nadia was born. Wow, I am so behind. Maybe soon she wil be big enough to sit next to me and share creative time???
