Our friend, Mr. Daddy, is currently is surgery to get a lump on his thyroid removed. It’s 95% that it is cancer. He’s had a tough few months, and this was kind of like the cherry on top of the sundae of loads of bad things happening. He’s got a wonderful perspective on it all, of course.
Here’s to you, Mr. D…
Last week, another friend and co-worker was diagnosed with choroidal melanoma in her eye. She is a little over 40, has 4 little boys and will likely lose vision in that eye. Six in one million get diagnosed annually in the U.S. with this disease. Unfortunately, the odds were not in her favor.
Cancer just sucks.
We are praying that they will both recover from these dang diseases.
Praying real hard.
I’ve just read about a little girl who was taken by a brain tumour last Tuesday night. One can’t helping asking why? Why any of these lovely people? I pray that the outcomes for your friends are good ones.
I will be praying. We just went through it with my husband. Melanoma on his chest. Surgery at the end of August, an infection on one of the two incisions 30 days later (they took out a couple lymph nodes to make sure it hadn’t spread). But he has a clean bill of health – cancer free. 2011 wasn’t the best year for us here.
Prayers for both.
Praying here, too. My friend who BEAT Inflammatory Breast Cancer last year just found out that the cancer is back, and she is just one in a long string of family and friends. Cancer does suck. Thinking of you all.
As you can see – I’m just now getting a chance to catch up… and I am so overwhelmed at your kindness.
Thank you for praying for us. I have no idea how we survived that diagnosis/surgery/snowmageddon all in two weeks! I’m sure it was prayer.
So very, very grateful.
(and to think… it all started with a few comments on a stumbled-upon blog 🙂
