Grateful for…learning. Kailan has been having an issue with studying his words. He obviously didn’t look at them at all on the first week, which should be readily apparent. We worked him most nights at dinner that next week. I should say that Anya worked him. She read him the words and he said them back to her. Second grade should be interesting for her.
Grateful for fun times for the kids. Last Friday there was a Family Fun Night at their school, so after dinner we went over to the school. That left less than an hour of festivities. Brian dropped us off at the door and went in search of a parking spot, and I took the kiddos inside. They remained glued to my side for several minutes. There was a DJ in the gym on one end and little boys running around like Hammy in Over the Hedge after he drank a soda. Crazy! I saw one of Kai’s friends over in the group of boys, so he ran over to them. I pushed Anya over to her Kindergarten teacher who was dancing with the kids, and she got a hug from her and then the dancing/running/jumping bonanza began. They both got a lot of energy out in that gym!
Grateful for WARM WEATHER. On Saturday we went on a walk around the lake. It was gloriously warm. Kai was the only one really dressed for the muddy side, as he had on his mud boots. It’s really sad. They had to tear out all the trees, bushes and vegetation to rebuild the burm. It’s just a muddy track between the lake and marsh now. 🙁 This spot is all gone. The trees are just…gone. 🙁
Grateful for last minute playdates. You know, when you call them, say “Are you busy? Is your kid bored? Do they want to come over and play with my bored kid so they both then become…not bored and therefore, happy??”. This is from a playdate the previous weekend. We had 4 kids occupying the same space…2 boys and 2 girls. The only issue we had was when the boys decided to play with the nerf guns in the girls room. Apparently, they made a mess, and the little misses were just not having that! Of course, here they are playing on Kai’s Batman computer. 😉
It does look sad without the trees. Hopefully there will be some new growth in the spring. That is so sweet that Anya helped Kai with his spelling. That sounds like something Harper would do, but of course she is the older child.
