Kailan has acquired an unsavory attitude and banter of late. He has been giving us ultimatum’s if he doesn’t like the answer or his life circumstances, as they are.
Example:
M/D: Kailan you need to eat your dinner.
Kailan: If you make me eat this I will never eat anything EVER AGAIN!
*****
M/D: Kailan, you need to pick up your toys.
Kailan: Well, if you make me pick these up, I will be sad and I won’t play with my toys EVER AGAIN!
*****
M/D: Kailan, no more cartoons. You have watched enough today.
Kailan: Noooooooo! If you turn off the TV, well, then I won’t watch cartoons EVER AGAIN!
*****
Notice a trend here? Usually when giving an ultimatum, the outcome should be objectionable to the other person. Not yourself. The boy needs some learnin’ on how to appropriately give an ultimatum. Not that we are encouraging this behavior, AT ALL. I don’t know where he learned this behavior, but I’d like to string the individual up by their toenails. It is VERY, VERY ANNOYING.
Lord, give us patience!
Hmmm. That’s one my boys have never tried. They’re big fans of the “I’m not your friend” and the “I don’t love you any more” strategies…
I bet if you really honored one of his ultimatums he would NEVER DO IT EVER AGAIN!
So funny.
Sorry, I LOL. As children grow older they test the waters of independence…and our patience. They also do not tend to be very good at it, do they? His responses made me giggle.
My boys find themselves confused by their own responses when they get upset with not getting their way. Like when they firmly state, “I’m going to my room and will not come out or talk to you until you let me _____!” I LOVE that one…it so punishes me. 🙂
Hi there! Love the swords by the way! Wanted to tell you that I finally broke down and bought Elements 6.0….and guess what? Although there is some neat nifty stuff the (Filter, Sharpen, Unsharpen Mask) is gone! I can’t find it! I follow some of your examples when editing my photos and I keep this one handy all the time. So where IS THAT THING I’m wondering…..
I tried to figure out how to email you. Think I’ve done that before.
Anyway, found it. Click ENHANCE>UNSHARP MASK>(then the levels you said 20/60/0). I think that will work for the Sharpening at the end (step 8 on the print out I have from you) because it’s the only place I can find where you have the three values you can enter.
Let me know if you don’t understand or need anything else. I’m getting used to Elements 6.0 but find the coolest feature so far is an easier cropping tool. I like that a lot!!

So funny! And what do you guys say…”Um, ok…no more cartoons NEVER again?!!
Oh, it was another night of ultimatums! I know each kid has some really unique ways of acting out. 😉
And yes, Carrie, we do say that LOL!
that’s pretty funny. Lauren’s been known to throw around an ultimatum from time to time, too. I usually just say, ok, but you’ll still need to……
crazy kids.
Boy oh boy, that kid sure does know how to stick it to ya. 😉 That’s hysterical.
