Aged

I had good intentions last weekend, really I did.  I went to a historic river town on Saturday and had enough time on Sunday morning to do a photo shooting excursion.  One problem, though.  I had a little teensy weensy hangover from the night before and I was functioning on less than 5 hours of sleep.  I wasn’t really in the mood for photography at that point, dang it all.

So…I had to dig in the archives to find something that would fit the theme.  This picture was from last July at Kailan’s great aunt and uncle’s farm.

This is from last September at some mill ruins:

What sort of aged shots were you able to take this week…or sometime in the past year(s) or so?

I like both photos you posted today–I think the one with the boy takes the prize, though! ;)

It was hard to choose for me today because I LOVE old buildings n the like–could shoot them all day long it seems! Great topic, thanks!

You must have great archives :) I love Kailan’s photo, especially–and it reminds me a bit of what I hope I’ll be getting the first time we go to Grandpa’s barn that J’s not scared out of his mind!

    Here’s mine–fresh from this morning.

    Awesome pictures!!

I took a different approach for the theme this week. I didn’t have a chance to get out and photograph anything old (it’s been raining cats and dogs all week) so I just added an AGED preset to pictures I already took. I love the effect.

It is funny. As we were driving to Kayla’s riding lessons on Tuesday, along the way I kept my eyes out for old barns and such. No such luck.

Then I realized this morning that I had the perfect old item to showcase: a old Swedish Bible. The inside inscription is dated 1912, so the Bible is at least that old. :)

:) Your so talented – but I can see how your photography has grown just in this short time – it’s amazing isn’t it?

Here’s ours – old with some new (the kids are pretty new right?) http://fingerstotoes.com/something-old-something-new/

Nice photos! I brought out a shot from last year, cleaned it up in Photoshop and posted it. Thanks for the theme!

I love the top picture of Kai, that’s a cool location.

I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of Harrison at some cool place either, so I posted some other favorite shots.http://justaddcolor.blogspot.com/2008/05/ptheme-thursday-aged.html

I didn’t get myself together to participate this week – although I suppose that Thursday isn’t over yet, so if the sobbing from the non-napper ever stops perhaps I will be able to come up with something…although I am not holding my breath!

Those mill ruins are gorgeous — and I can’t believe how much Kai has grown up in just a year! Wow!

Good intentions, yep I had some of those too. Guess that’s why I ended with a cactus. ;)

I like the mill ruins though. All the water rushing by lends itself to the idea of something wearing down with time.

Good intentions here…but no follow through this week! I didn’t even have time to go through the archives, like you – but I love yours! Esp. the one of Kai! That one is great.

    Next week….

Once again, no TT for me…I just haven’t had the energy to get anything together lately. But I love what you found in the archives, especially the one of Kai!

I know this is crazy-late, but I have a submission. There was a lot I could have posed my daughter with at this fair we went to on Saturday, but my 10 month old was sick, so I was snapping candids and tending to him simultaneously… alas…

it’s the sepia one a few pics down…
