Now I didn’t partake in this dessert, since it is Lent and I gave up sweets. My children wanted cake, so I decided to make this recipe. A friend sent me this recipe a few weeks ago and I threw hexes and bad omens her way. Not really…that would be mean! Well, maybe a few small ones. 😉
Recipe:
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (I used peanut butter/chocolate swirl chips)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3-3.5 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake may rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed.
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (This can serve 2 small children fairly easily).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the whole wide entire world????
Now we are all only 5-10 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! Rejoice and don’t look at that swimsuit that’s scolding you! Ignore it!
OMG that looks awesome, you are so right that is dangerous. I can’t believe you gave up sweets for Lent…your a stronger woman than I.
I’ve seen this one floating around and have been deliberately ignoring it. It would be death to my waistband! I’m sure the kids loved it though… am I right? 🙂
Oh man. Now I am going to have to try this recipe darn it. Too easy and yummy.
I’m not sure if i LOVE you or not….that IS DANGEROUS!!!!! I don’t think Mia will ever get any, but I and my unborn child THANK THANK THANK YOU! 🙂
If only licking the screen would reward me with a taste…p.s. my screen does NOT taste like chocolate ;p
Ok contributing to the delinquency of my Buda belly is not something I will be thankful for next Thursday…… LOL But it sure does look good and simple to make…. I hope that Rach continues to ignore it..LOL I like to cook and BBQ but am not big on baking, (this might be to easy not to try)
good grief. that is dangerous indeed. we will have to try these…most definitely.
Are you serious?! Why have I not heard about this…or even thought about it myself!? I swear I am going to go raid my cabinets right now. What a great idea!
I’m going to pretend that you never posted this….. 😉
that is amazing I have never heard of this. I think that I might have to try this.
Oh dear! I am barely getting into my jeans after all the GS cookies :{
Those are waaaaay too easy to make!
🙂
OK everyone, I did make this on Saturday night. It is so easy and so fast, and it just slips right out of the mug onto a plate or into a bowl. I would say it’s a bit too much for one person to eat, splitting it with someone would be just perfect. And it’s absolutely heavenly eaten warm with fresh whipped cream or cool whip 🙂 Yum!
I can’t believe you just shared that recipe! My children will be eating chocolate cake from coffee mugs for the rest of their life. 😉 That’s absolutely amazing and will be tried out tonight I’m sure.
Trying it out today!!!!! Mind you, with my pathetic cooking skills it will take me 5 minutes to find all the ingredients 🙂
The BA made it the other day and it was a great success! Thanks! Must try more of these recipes.
