The big reveal…

Hopefully everyone has their cards by now.  This was another graphic design effort, which is what I love about making our Christmas cards.  It is fun to play around with Photoshop!

The Details:

Made Anya’s outfit

Made Kailan’s shirt

The words in the jars were all Photoshopped in there.  The “glow” is from added fairy dust brushes, added a glow around the letters and using the Dodge tool to create the look of the light shining around them.  Artwork is my own drawings.

I was reading a tutorial online in how to create holiday cards, and it said to make sure to put the text as Happy Holidays.  It said, that was due to being sensitive in how other people celebrate the holidays.

I tend to disagree.

We celebrate Christmas in our house, not the generic “holidays”.  We are wishing people a Merry Christmas as our faith in being Christians.  I would love to receive a Happy Hanukkah card from my Jewish friends, seeing how they celebrate their faith.  I don’t believe we should hide our faith behind being PC.  Everyone should feel free to celebrate their faith, no matter what it is and not hide behind something generic in order to not offend those easily offended.

*off my soapbox*

So…Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy Drinking Time (to you Atheists…you know you love our parties!) to one and all!
